Interested in the following branch. I have gr gr gr grandfather Joseph Cleland born 1804 Ireland. Married to Jane (maiden name unknown). They had the following children:
1)John Cleland born 1827 in Ireland. Married to Eliza Jane Gill (dau of William of from the townland of Leggygowan) Apr 9, 1848 in the Presbyterian Church, Lissara, Saintfield, Co Down.
2)Hugh Cleland born May 31, 1831
3)Elizabeth Cleland born 1832
4)Mary Ann Cleland born 1834
5)William A Cleland born 1836
6)Ann Cleland 1838
7)Elizabeth Cleland 1841
8)James Cleland 1846
9)Robert Cleland 1848
10)Joseph Cleland (not proven)
11)Aaron Cleland (not proven)
We believe that John was residing in the town of Tullynagee at the time.
We also believe that the children were christened at the Parish of Kilmore, Down Co (Presbyterian)
We know that this particular Cleland family left Ireland in 1849 and came to America. Very interested in learning of my Irish Heritage.
