I am looking for a needle in a haystack! My great-grandfather was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Irish parents. Their names were Jeremiah Sullivan and Ann or Mary Sullivan. She was born in either 1826 or 1830 and died in Savannah, Georgia. I believe they emigrated from County Cork to Boston around 1850 when my great-grandfather Michael was born, and then went on to Newport News, Virginia where another son, Jeremiah, was born in 1852. Eventually they all ended up in Savannah between 1856 and 1860. The two boys show up in an 1860 census in an orphan asylum and their dad, Jeremiah joined the Civil War and never returned for the boys. Their mother (Ann or Mary, we are not sure which) died in either 1856 or 1862.Any help or information will be greatly appreciated!
