I am looking for information on my gr-gr-gr-grandfather John Sylvas Curran. He came to the USA in 1819/20 at the Port of Philadelphia. John, age 11, was in the company of James, age 40; Richard, age 10; and Thomas, age 7. John went to WashingtonCo., Ohio, about 1840. In approximately 1836 he married Bridget Materson, br. about 1816 in Ireland.The Curran's had eleven children: Owen Eugene, William, James, Mary Ann, John S., Jr, Patrick, Peter,Bridget, Francis (Frank), Michael, and Catherine. John Sylvas Curran died in Ohio in 1881, and Bridget followed in 1882. I do not know where he came from in Ireland or any thing about his family over there.
