Mylerstown Co Kildare.......
MICHALE KANE & BRIDGET DUNGAN..both possibly born in the 1810's-1820's not sure if they were from Kildare or they came there to live and work.....these were my G-G-G-Grandparents...Michael was a tailor ..he and Bridget had 9 children ..I know they lived in Mylerstown Co Kildare from 1848 down to 1882 for sure..I also know Michale was alive in Oct of 1882..I have names of 5 children and know that at least 6 emigrated to the US by 1870 ..none came during the Famine years..names of known children were PATRICK KANE?KEANE/OKANE/OKEANE br abt 1840 [my G-G-grandfather] who was also a Tailor, he married a Maria/Mary Stakem/um br Ire also...have info on their children, BRIDGET br 1848 Mylerstown , KATHERINE br 1850 Mylerstown both came to the US in 1870 both entered the Convent of the Society of the Sacred Heart in Missouir, have their info, ELIZABETH br 1859 married a MICHALE JOHN O'CONNOR br Co Cork [also a tailor] in Allen in Oct of 1882, had 1 daughter MARY/MAYME br in Oct of 1883 they came to the US in 1884 have all their family info, MICHAEL who was in Rochester Pa in 1877 for sure..then I lose him no other info on him, UNKNOWN DAUGHTER br befor 1848 lived in St Charles Missouri by 1871...it is quite possible that one of her daughters married a JOHN MURPHY of Kansas City Missouri as there was mention in Sister Bridget Kane's obit in 1937 of a niece Mrs John Murphy who attended her funeral in St Joseph Missouri also another niece was mentioned in the obit a MRS MARGARET WELSH of Sheffield England...nothing else at this time know on either niece..know there was a PETER KANE but not sure of his relationship he was a witness to Elizabeth and Michael O'Connors marriage in Oct of 1882...will share what I have with anyone who might connect with this line of KANES..it was in records in Ireland as KANE...in the US the name is spelt as O'KANE/O'KEANE..areas in the US where lines found are Pennsylvania, Missouri, West Virginia and in Ireland was found in Mylerstown Co Kildare...
