FLYNN'S FROM SLIGO. My Flynn's are from the Easky/Templeboy/Grangemore/Lecarrow area of Co Sligo. My great, great, great grandfather, Cormack Flynn b 1755, married Mary Flynn (also her maiden name) b 1753, in Grangemore. They had three children: John b 1787 and married Mary FINNEGAN; Mary b 1793 and married Thomas BURNS; and Catherine "Kitty Rua" b 1808 and married Patrick GREAHAN (GRAHAM).
Mary Flynn Burns and Thomas Burns came to Watertown, NY, as did Catherine Flynn Graham and Patrick Graham. John Flynn and Mary Finnegan stayed in Ireland, and had three children (we know for sure, possibly 5). First was Patrick b 1815 and married Catherine MCCARTHY; James b 1819 and married Catherine CULKIN, and Thomas b 1832 and married Catherine MCCARRICK.
Patrick Flynn and Catherine McCarthy came to Watertown, NY, as did Thomas Flynn and Catherine McCarrick. James Flynn and Catherine Culkin remained in Ireland, but their son John Flynn came to Omaha, NE.
