I am trying to find any information on a Bridget Burke (born c.1826-died 1921) She was born in Galway Co. -exact location unknown- the daughter of Dominick Burke and an unknown Madden.
Later married Edward/James Whalen, and went to the USA in the late 1840's, early 1850's. They had 2 children there, James (born c.1856) and Ellen (born 1857 in Cincinnati, OH).
The family then returned to Ireland after the US civil war, Edward/James died in Galway Co. Bridget then remarried to a Patrick Quinn, and with their family, moved to Australia where they remained until their deaths.
Hopefully, one of these names rings a bell...fingers crossed anyway, and I would be grateful if anyone with any information on the family, or how to get the records, could contact me at: dallassoz@yahoo.com.au
