MARKEY / McGINNIS / TUITE surnames from COUNTY LOUTH. All emigrated to America, settled in JAVA, NY.
JAMES MARKEY (b. 1812) Parish of Molary, County Louth. Alledged to be orphaned. Came to NY city around 1830, settled in Java around 1832-33. Married to Margaret (surname unknown), who was also from County Louth, Parish of Donlear (Dunleer). Their son John Markey married Ann Elizabeth Tuite (daughter of James Tuite mentioned below). They had 5 children: James, Andrew, George, Estella Gertrude (my great grandmother), & Anna (Nellie).
JAMES McGINNIS of Tallanstown, County Louth, came to Java in 1829. His wife's name was Anne (surname unknown).
NICHOLAS TUITE & wife Margaret (surname unknown) settled in Java, NY in 1832. They had one son James (b. 1832).
Any info on Irish orphanages or any relatives still in Ireland with above mentioned surnames/family connection please write. I have many family photos from the mid 1800's, but don't know everyone's identity. Thanks in advance for any help.
