My great grandmother, Margaret Lawler, emigrated to the U.S. in l846. She came with a brother and arrived at Port of New York. She was from Newgate, Queens County, Ireland. I am advised Newgate has been renamed Port Laois. She was born Dec. 26th, l830. Any info. on her parents or other family would be appreciated. She was a baptized Catholic but when requesting her baptismal records for United States citizenship from the church she was informed that the church had burned with all the records. Her first husband was one Michael Donley who may have made the voyage with her. Thank you for any help. Dianne
