PHILLIPS - Northern Ireland. My 6th g-grandfather, John Phillips,
was born in Northern Ireland in 1678. Married Ann Edwards from Wales.
Their son Gabriel Phillips, Sr., was born in 1725 either in Northern
Ireland or Buck County, Pennyslvania, USA. Gabriel Phillips, Sr. married
Johannah Cook from the USA in about 1757,and he died in Newberry County, South Carolina,
USA in 1809.
I would love to find out more about the PHILLIPS from Northern Ireland and discover
if there are any distant relatives left there. I believe that John Phillips (b. 1678)
did not come to American and stayed on in Ireland and that Gabriel was indeed born in
Northern Ireland as I can find no death record of Gabriel's father, John, in the USA.
Any historical information will be welcome -- just for curiosity's sake. :)
