searching: DOUGHERTY, MARTIN,McMANUS, Johnstone and more. I believe the Dougherty family consisted of 1) James 1798 mrd Martha Martin (1800) in about 1826, they had two children over there, John 1828, William 1830. 2) Isaih 1802 3) Samuel abt 1794 mrd Mary (age and date unknown) possibly had Jane abt. 1818, Marian abt.1827 4) Helen or Ellen or Mary abt 1804 mrd Samuel Johnston b.abt 1800. possibly married abt 1828. They had James 1830, Robert 1832, and a baby girl 1833 who died at 3 months on the Atlantic ocean. I have a note that says Robert was born in Mark???, Ireland. 5) Benjamin 1816 They came from the County of Monaghan, as did Samuel Johnston. They came to Canada in 1833. I don't know where they left from. or why they left. They were protesant. James and Martha's religion being listed as the Kirk of Scotland on the 1851 Ontario census. If anyone could help me out with any info on any of these lines I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Frances
