Hello, my name is Patrick Strain and I am looking for information on the Strain family name in Ireland and worldwide. I am Also looking any information on the Henderson and Slavin family who came from the Tyrone area at the turn of the 20th century. My grandfatjher was John Patrick Henderson and he married Mary Slavin in ST.Augustines R.C. Church in Coatbridge, Scotland in 1911. He served as a sergeant with the Royal Inniskillens during the first world war and later with the R.I.C. His uncle was the R.C. primate of Ireland the late Cardinal McCrory. His mother's maiden name was McCrory and his father's name was Marshall Henderson. He had one brother William, who died as a result of an accident. My Paternal Grandfather was Patrick Mathew Strain. He also served with the Inniskillens, but during the second world war. He was born in 1902/3 and married a Mary Ellen Brady in Belfast in the 1920's. Any information would be greatly appreciated and if I can help anyone in their search I am only too happy to do so, regardless of name. I live in Co.Down and will do my best to get information for anyone.
