BOWNASS, Michael b. ?1836, d. 1914- if anyone is looking for info on him I have some. He married a Welsh woman and had two sons, but no info on these. He ran a hotel in Walees. Expense of lost court case ruined him, and lost his hotel. More details available. From Witherslack, Westmorland, travelled overseas. Married Martha Phipps c. 1876, lived Birkenhead (first timekeeper B'Head North Station)and had daughter Isabel Annie who went to Canada and married her cousin John Edward Andrews, b. 1880 Kent England, d 1953 Birkenhead. Returned 1914 and unable to return because of war - lost land in Canada because money for taxes could not get through. Fuller account if Welsh Bownass descendants interested. Diolch yn fawr.
