Seeking info on Mr. THOMAS who came to Ontario, Canada as a
teacher from Cardiff, Wales before Sept 1845. He taught in
a log cabin schoolhouse in East Flamborough, ON, CAN. He
married(Margaret?) Pennsylvanian Deutch descent(b Germany).
They are parents of my gr grandfather Samuel Poole THOMAS
b 26 Sept 1845 in either Lynden, Wentworth Co. or London,
Middlesex Co. and Albert b abt. 1852(who later became a
professor). They were orphaned by 1861 & lived apart - In
1861 Samuel(age 16, a student) was living with the John
MCROBERTS family in Middlesex Co. ON, CAN and in 1871
Albert was found in Oxford Co. Samuel marr. Ann EASTERBROOK
in 1865.
Their children: William James b 1866, George Orville
b 1870, Samuel b 1873, Clarence "Ben" b 1875, John Edwin
b abt 1879, Ida Laura b 1880, Henry A. b. 1883, Elias
b. 1886, Leslie b abt 1888 and Mary Jane b. (?)
This seems hopeless, I know but if anyone
can help I'd be grateful.
