seeking information re: SMITH, William, b. 1842 in Pembroke, he joined the British Marines, and jumped ship in Melbourne Australia in 1869.He was always rather reluctant to discuss his past (probably fearing he would be jailed for deserting)and little is known about his family. his mother may have been an O'Neal (Neil?). Thanks!
