My Mother JANET DAVIES died on 31/12/1984. I was 13 years old. My mother was 39. Janet was adopted, born on 4.January.1945, and was adopted by Cyril and Evelyn Smith of Cwmparc, RHONDDA.
My mother started tracing her birth mother after Evelyn died in 1978, she was successful in the trace and found out in 1984 who her mother was, and went through all the counselling and was told that she was able to meet her birth mother.
When my mother heard this news she had been diagnosed with cancer, and said maybe it was just not to be, and died later that year. I know my mother would have met if she was not ill, and she didn't want to cause her birth mother any pain through this.
I feel I need to find out, I have three children of my own now who never saw their grandmother and this saddens me.
CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME GENERAL DIRECTIONS OF WHERE I CAN GO.
I have been told that they believe Janets birth mother was from Treorchy, RHONDDA and was living there in 1984. I cannot vouch for that information.
ANY HELP EVEN IF IT IS JUST GENERIC ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO.
