I am looking for info on my GRIFFITHS/EVANS FAMILY. The following are our Griffiths/Evans families living in Llanelly, Brecon, Wales during 1881 census:
William Griffiths
born 1844-1845 in Nantyglo
Occ: Collier
Tradition in our family for eldest son to take grandfather's name, alternating between the names William and John (Lewis).
Wife: Margaret Melissa Evans born 1845-1846 in Brynmawr, Becknock, Wales
Arrived USA August 14, 1884
she later married N.J. Powell, another Welshman. They owned the Belle-Vue Hotel in Llanwrtyd Well, Powys. We think
she is buried around there somewhere. She died in 1914.
My gggrandparent's marriage would have been probably 1860 to 1870. They lived in Brynmawr-Llanelly area (we believe all our families listed here lived in Brynmawr until around 1879)
Address 1881 was 24 Clydach St., Llanelly, Brecon, Wales
They divorced around 1892 (she lived in USA and William still lived in Wales to my knowledge)

John L.C. Griffiths, born Sept. 9, 1870 in Brynmawr, Brecknock, Wales (my great-grandfather. We always thought his middle name was Lewis. Wondering what the "C" stands for) He arrived in America in 1887.

Jane and children came to America sometime between then and 1884 (maybe arriving with sister, Margaret Griffiths)

Occ: coal miner (we believe he had a daughter named Anne)
