BRODIE and WYLLIE
24 Dec 1838, John MCDONALD married Elizabeth BRODIE in the Dundee Parish Church. John was born in Dundee, about 1815. Elizabeth BRODIE was a native of Ayr, the daughter of Neil BRODIE and Janet WYLLIE. Census records list her as born about 1815, but records of the Ayr Parish Church show her baptism in 1813. Janet WYLLIE dies in 1843 at Blackness Road in Dundee, and was buried at the Constitution Road Cemetery. She died at the age of 55. Neil BRODIE is still alive for the census of 1861. They were both born about 1788, in Ayr. They baptized 4 children in Ayr, one in St Quivox, and the last 4 in Dundee. I am trying to date the death of Neil, and his locate his final resting place. Information about the Ayrshire ancestors of Janet and Neil would also be welcome.
