searching for relitives of Margaret Law Hannah b1874 Doonside Maybole Ayr but 1881 Census states she was six born Monkton living at Chapelhill Cotts Adrossan Her father was Robert Hannah b1841 Maybole Mother was Catherine Born or Boon b1842 Monkton other siblings Ann b1863 Elizabeth b1870 Andrew b1873 James b1877 Jane b1879 David b1880-1 Maggie as she was known was first married to John Gary. Merchant Seaman aged 21 on 9/3/1893 at Crown Hotel Chapel Street Saltcoats Maggie was 20 years of age sadly John Garry died at sea I do not know where or when
Maggie married for the second time to Thomas Cuthbertson on 5/6/1895 at 78 Montgomerie Lane Adrosson Church of Scotland James Cuthbertson and Elizabeth Kennedy were Thomas's parents. Maggie and Thomas had six children that I know of James who joined up in the first world war was under age but lived to move to Oxford run a pub married. Two children Thomas joined the RAF UXBRIDGE in second world war married my fathers sister had two children. Margaret[Peggie]b1907 married to a chap called ? Lesley had two boys one I think was called William.Second marriage to Jack Samuals lived in London Stratford was an ex police man also profesional boxer run a pub Jack and Peggie emigrated to Australia late 1940,s adopted a child called Jeanie had a daughter called Margaret. Eleanor[Nellie]b1911 married Burt Nickols four children living in Herts. Elizabeth Kennedy b1909,was my mother who married John Mayling my father in 1933 at Denham Buckinghamshire two children. Robena was the last child of Thomas and Maggie b1817 was only aged eight when Maggie died aged 43 Thomas raised six children single handed They were also looked after in the summer holidays by their Uncle Archie and Auntie Mary at Aldrosson they also had a relitive who was a minister at St Johns Church. Thomas Cuthbertson had a brother James who emigrated to America with Jessie. Robena. and Eleanor long before 1940's as he came back for the funeral of Thomas who died Dec 1940 his address was 85 Millburn St Motherwell.
