STILBA. I am trying to help my friend trace her fathers relations. His name was Alexandrs STILBA. He was born in Riga Latvia. His date of birth states: 5.5.1918. [Although the 18 on all documents seem to be smudged]. He was Roman Catholic. He had 3 brothers and 1 sister. His fathers name was Zegesmund Stilba [Finnish] and his mothers name was Zozzia [Polish]. I have probably spelt the two names incorrectly. My friend has gathered the following information from her mother and all old documents found. [Her father died several years ago].

Temp. Registration card. Service Lett-Heer. Labour control. A689--- [last 3 letters hard to read]. Home Addres: Riga. Kreis Street. Lubanas 7-14 Latvia. Occupation-Klempner.3-5th 1947 he came from displaced persons camp. Grossenbrede Reg 841621. Occupation: Builder. Tiler & Silversmith.
My friend believes that he was a British Prisoner of war in Belguim.
My friend thinks that the family moved to Finland. [Possibly at the age of 10 years he worked in the woods with his father.] His family had a farm in the country. They also owned a butchers shop.
My friend would be so very grateful if anyone can help her at all as she does not have much family.
