MISSING PERSON - Joyce Taylor (65). We are seeking the whereabouts of a lady who as a young girl had the birth name: Joyce Taylor. She was put into care (fostered, adopted or simply temporarily looked after) by the TUFFEL family in Walton-upon-Thames in the early 1950s. She would have been in her mid to late teens at that time. We are also seeking anyone who may know of her or who was living in the area at that time. Previously to that she was living with a family by the name of CORAL in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. It may be that she changed her name at that time and may not even have been Joyce Taylor when she moved to stay with the Tuffels. The last address that we have for her from the Social Service records is Sandy Way, Walton-on-Thames. However we have also discovered that a gentleman by the name of Martin Tuffel was formally adopted by the Tuffels after that time, and he used to live at 32 Rodney Road, Walton-on -Thames. Apparently Martin has now reverted to his birth name and moved away from Walton-on-Thames, and all attempts to contact him have failed to date. We believe that it must have been the same Tuffel family involved with both Joyce and Martin because searches on the Internet have only found ten Tuffels in the whole world, and only three in the UK. Unfortunately most of these are unrelated to each other, or if they are they're not saying. Joyce is one of a family of 5 Taylor sisters who were split up by a court order in the early 1950s. Of these three have been found and have been reunited in the last two years. They had not seen each other for over 50 years. Last year Margaret and Christine met Dorothy for the first time in 54 years!! Now we need to complete the family by finding the eldest sister - Joyce. Her official records apparently ceased in the early 1950s so she might have been formally adopted by the Tuffels and changed her name, and/or she might have married and changed her name yet again, and/or she might have simply emigrated and ceased to exist as a UK citizen. Therefore if you have any recollection of a young girl in her late teens, in the early 1950s, living with a Tuffel family in Walton-on-Thames, then we'd really appreciate hearing from you please. Alternatively if you can help us track down Martin Tuffel or indeed any other member of the Tuffel family, again please let us know. Thank you, Dorothy Taylor (youngest sister).
