Hello,

A friend is trying to find his family. Can you help?

=======================

John Jacques DeVillerais came from Sussex, England and landed in Philadelphia in 1760 (ship unknown) with his son, John Villars, (son also known as Vilett, Villis, Villiers). I have no clue where he died or if he brought a wife, etc. John (the son) was about 10 years old in 1760 and served in the Revolutionary War [USA] under Colonel William Withers' Rangers.

I would think that with a middle name of "Jacques" he was of French origin but there are also many Villiers in England at that time and John Jacques came from Sussex, England.

Thanks for your attention.
