Ellen Skramstad United States Apr 27, 2007
Looking for information on my Great Great Great Grandfather's family from Llanuwchllyn, Merionethshire Wales. His name was Edward Edwards, married to Elizabeth Thomas Edwards (same surname). The couple's farm was known as Drws Nant, just southeast of Lake Bala. My Great Great Grandfather Thomas Edwards immigrated to the United States from Wales in 1850. His brother John E. Edwards immigrated to the United States in 1852. A sister, Jane Edwards also came to the United States. A family bible recorded siblings Ann, Elizabeth, Catherine, Ellen, Mary, Edward, and Margaret that remained in Wales. My Great Great Grandfather was born Sept. 20, 1829 in Wales, his brother John E. was born Feb. 3, 1821. I would like to find my family Edwards in Wales.
Thank you for any help,
Ellen

Can anyone help ? I am researching my family tree - Powell/Phillips from the district of Ystradyfodwg, Rhondda.
The Powell family hails from Ton Pentre and the Phillips from Llwynypia. On a very old special events record that I am fortunate to have a copy of there is an entry on it saying that Thomas and Sarah (nee Howell) Phillips(my great grandparents) adopted Kate Sparrow in December 1902. No age of Kate is given, or who her natural mother was - please can anyone throw any light on this. I would be interested to know what happened to Kate. Thomas and Sarah did have children of there own (one of them was my Grandmother Alexandrina Powell nee Phillips) All ancestors from the Powell side of the family appear to be buried at Treorchy and the Phillips at Trealaw. I would be grateful for any information anybody has regarding Kate or the Sparrow family that she came from - Thanks
