I am looking for the father of Evan William born 1844 or 1845. In the 1861 census his birth is listed as Llangfelach, Glarmogran, Wales. His mother was Jennet (Hopkin)Harries or Harris. She was married to William Harries. Evan's birth was prior to this marriage. I would like any information on Evan. His mothers name was spelled several ways, Jenet, Jennett and Jennet, Hopkin and Hopkins. Jennet's father was Evan Hopkin as listed on her marriage.Collier Thanks for any infomation you may be able to give me. |

Looking for LLOYDS. I have reason to believe my maternal grandfather, David Richard Daniel Lloyd, is connected with Daniel and Emma Lloyd of Aberdare.
Daniel (b. 1839 Bredo Worcester) was a railway engine driver. He married Emma (b. 1838 Cardiff, Glamorgan) and they had 6 children:
Richard, b. 1861, Cardiff. Railway labourer.
Maria, b. 1866, Pontypool.
George, b. 1868, Aberdare.
David, b. 1871, Aberdare.
Rose Ann, b. 1873, Aberdare.
Daniel, b. 1875, Aberdare.
I know that my great grandfather's name was David, that he was born in Aberdare, that he had a brother named Daniel and that they both worked for the railroad. The birth year of 1871 would be about right.
David and Daniel both moved to England. David married Louisa Currier and had three children: Louise, David Richard Daniel (my grandfather), and Elizabeth.
If anyone can give me any information on Daniel and Emma and their family I would be very appreciative. |

I am trying to find information of David's parents. Possisbly Thomas and Anne Davies nee Lewis. David was born about 1815 in Blaina/Blaenavon. Monmouthshire. Wales. Thomas was a miner. David and his wife Ann,(who he married 21.6.1840 in Llanover. Monmouth) with Ann and John migrated to Australia. Arriving in Adelaide in 1866 Was possibly a preacher. Went to Walleroo in South Australia, then in 1867 went to Ross Creek. Victoria. Was at one time a Mayor of Buningyong (Vic.) and a back bencher in Deakin Government. He married Sarah Phillips and had 5 sons and 1 daughter. (What happened to first wife Ann?) David died in Ballarat in June 1894. Believed to be buried in Old Cemetary Ballarat. Victoria. Australia.Does anyone have access to census 1861 or 71, that could check on ages of David or his children. Hoping someone may have further info. |
