I'm looking for information on a John Jones (miner) who married Ann Davies. I have their daughters marriage certificate for her 2nd marriage in Australia to John Brown in 1863 at the Wesleyan Church. It states she was born in Monmouthshire Wales and was 26 year old in 1863.
A Stephen Jones was a witness to this marriage, I dont know if he is related or not. Any assistance will be greatly received. Thank Vicki

Dear Folks,
Please disregard my message of Sept. 16, 2003. If the information on a birth certificate I received from the General Register Office for my Greatgrandmother Caroline Willis(nee Thomas) is correct I will be looking for a different John Thomas family. The date of birth, 7 Feb. 1862; the place of birth, Mountain Ash,Glamorgan, Wales, and name of father, John Thomas occupation, coalminer are correct. The difference and what I'm surprised to see is the name of her mother; Sophia with a last name that is hard to read and looks like 'Har-ies.' The hyphen is blurred but it looks more like an 'r.' Initially I thought my Ggreatgrandmother's maiden name was 'Harris.'
The 1881 census has Caroline Willis at 81 Duffryn St. in Llanwanno, Glamorgan, Wales.
I believe the John Thomas family could have been living in Llanwonno at the same time. I have a letter dated 1910 from Mrs. Edith Jones to Mrs Alfred Willis (Caroline) in which she refers to 'Sister Carrie.' Her address was No. 38 Phillips St, Graiy, Pontypridd, South Wales.
Can you folks try to confirm the John Thomas family and if possible locate Edith and other siblings if any?
May I thank all you good folks in advance for helping me.
Sincerely,
Robert Horey

HELP!! I am about at my wits end trying to find out about my Grandfathers family (Jones and Evans from Wales?, how easy do you think it is??)(I thought so).
Anyway if anyone could help me to find out about them that would be great - the facts I have so far My Greatgrandfather was David Thomas Jones, born 1897 (approx) to David Morgan Jones and Elizabeth (Evans - i think). It is my familys belief that David Thomas was born in Lampeter, he was married in 1916 in Dunfermline, Scotland at that time he was a Merchant Seaman.
If anyone could help me to find out any more info I would really appreciate it.
P.S. Can't ask my Grandfather as he died 7 years before I was born (Also David Morgan Jones)
Here's hoping.

Dear Folks,
I'm back again seeking your assistance. From the marriage and death registrations of Caroline Thomas Willis the parents of Caroline are John Thomas and Caroline Harris both born in Wales. I have a Household Record from the 1881 British Census of a John and Caroline Thomas with daughters Mary and Charlotte and sons John and George.I can't confirm if these are Caroline's parents. She was married at this time and living at 81 Duffryn St, Llanwanno, Glamorgan, Wales. Could this family appear on the 1871 census with daughter Caroline along with Mary?Caroline's birth place is Glamorgan, Wales, 7 Feb.in 1861 or 1862. Also this family in the 1891 census with the possibility of another daughter Edith? In 1881, their dwelling was Cwm. The Census Place was Aberystruth, Monmouth, Wales.
Thank you all for your help.
Sincerely,
Robert N. Horey
P.S. Hello to all that have e-mailed me and I hope you are well.

Need help researching my Evans family tree. GGGrandfather Evan Evans came to US arriving 28 Nov.1839. Landing in New Orleans La. He was born in Wales. If his ship records were right he was born in 1820. There was also a Rd Evans on ship with him (maybe related?)We think he may have been born in Northern Wales. He worked as a boilermaker after he moved to Ohio.He married a woman named Sarah (maiden name unknown) she was also Welsh.I have not been able to find any info on his birth etc.If you have a Evan Evans in your family that disappeared around that time or you can give me an idea how I can find more info you can e-mail me at vievans@webtv.net Thanks
