LEWIS THOMAS; EVAN THOMAS born in Wales, came to Pennsyvania (Hilltown Township, Bucks County)before 1715.
Evan's son RICHARD THOMAS was born about 1715 in Hilltown Twp. He married Elizabeth Walton, and apparently they were Quakers. Richard had two sons who fought for the British during the American Revolution--later lost their lands and were banished for treason. British government gave them land in Nova Scotia. Searching for descendants of Henry CANTON & Priscilla GRIFFITH m 2 July 1820 Pembroke who had 9 children, Elizabeth, Charles, Margaret, Jane, Rebecca, John, George, Priscilla & Henry.
George is my gt-gt grandfather and settled in New Zealand where his siblings John & Rebecca also settled.

i am researching my family history got back as far as my g g father thomas rowland born chester
1851 been on LDS website but he is down as marrying anna in 1864 that would make him 13 a mistake of course but anna was born in machen
monmouth 1843,same place of the wedding i have
tried welsh registry offices but theres no record
can anyone offer any advice???please |

I am looking for 1881 census for my sons great grandparents, John Hughes born abt 1862/3. I believe I have found the family on the 1901 Census (John Hughes and wife Miriam nee Parker)born abt 1865, but have failed to find anything before this. John is believed to have been born in LLanelli, Wales and Miriam in Aberdare.If anyone has access to the 1881 census and could check for either of these names I would be very grateful.

Known children born in Newport: Sarah (1856), Mary, Rowland Davies, Elizabeth A. John, Robert, George.
