Can anyone tell me where I can get a photograph of the Halfway House Pub at Connah's Quay. A great Uncle, Edgar Butler, owned it certainly around the 1950's.
Another relative owned the Post Office at Prestatyn and a club aswell in the 1950's. His name was Ivor Jones.
I would be greatful if anyone can share any information regarding the two relatives mentioned above.
Does anyone know about Griff Jones who owned Flint Mountain - he was Ivors Father.
Many thanks Michelle |

Looking for any information regarding the family of my grandfather, Samuel Hughes born in Cardiff Wales approximately 1896. He immigrated to Canada and married Fried Howes of England in British Columbia, Canada in 1914. He had a bachelor uncle who lived in the west coast of the United States. I am trying to find birth, mattiage and death dates for my Great Grandfather Thomas Morgan who was born in Llandegley, Radnorshire around 1840. He married Margaret Price (born 1844) of Llandewy Radnorshire and became owner of the Barrow Arms in Barrow-in-Furness. I think he died around 1900. I know lots about him but have so far failed to verify these important events. |

Are the surnames WALTER and WATERS interchangeable? Ancestor John WATERS of Eastcote/Eastcott, d in1626, leaving widow Alice. Name spelled also as WALTER. Parents said to be a John WALTER and Dorothy(?) Payne of Persfield and Brodston, Gloucestershire. This John WALTER was said to be son of Thomas and ___ HASSEL; grandson of Thomas WALTER of Persfield and ___, dau of Richard CRADOCK Esq. (of the Y Dref Eto line); gr-grandson of Nicholas WALTER and ___, dau of William COYS of Llan Melyn; and gr-gr-grandson of John WALTER of Persfield. Need to validate or disprove this line. |

According to tradition, ancestor William GRIFFITH, born at or near Cardigan; was kidnapped at about age 18 while visiting London, smuggled to Bristol in secrecy and then shipped to Maryland in America, 1676; and said to be descended from some Welsh princes (?). Does any GRIFFITH family record in Wales have a tradition of a William GRIFFITH who disappeared around this time? |
