I am looking for any information about a man named Worthy Bishop who I believed immigrated to the USA in the mid to late 1800's.
I know that the family did have contacts with persons in the United Kingdom as I have a family picture of those in Great Britian. Among the names is Churchill. The picture is of a wedding and it appears that it might be in the 1920's.
Worthy Bishop moved hsi family from Ohio to Nebraska in the late 1800's. His wife was named Mary and he had 3 children, Alfred, Blanche and Florence. Florence is my grandmother. She was born in 1888 and told me that her father died when she was about 5 years of age.
I would love to hear from anyone who has any information about Worthy or his family. Also I would share the photo and other names that are noted on the back if needed.
I can be reached at jcmaus@fmtc.com |

Mary Jane Howell is my g-g-g grandmother and my great grandmother's namesake (she was named Mary Howell Young)
Another person who is researching the Howells
has said that
"Hugh Howell is the grandson of Edward Howell who emigrated in 1693, established the 1st English settlement on Long Island at Southhampton, and was a member of the New York State Legislature.
He was a Bucaneer with Captain Henry Morgan and was knighted by Charles II, and made governor of Jamaica and then settled in New Jersey.
If anyone has any leads on Hugh it would be a great help, I think he is english and not welsh, but I'm not sure.
Thank you

Margaret Alma Jones.
I am trying to find out about my mother Margaret Alma Jones who lived in East Glamorgan 41 Thompson Street Barry. I last saw her some time between 1949 to 1950, before leaving with my father for Malta. I would be interested in any relatives that may be still living in Wales. Please contact me. |

I have made two trips to Wales and three trips to London and have been trying to confirm and find the marriage of John Walters and Mary Owens (Jones?) in Rumney, Wales in 1840...
I would appreciate any assistance as I am tired of hitting dead ends.

His son also John b. 1820 marr Amelia Marsh daughter of Ship Agent James Marsh in 1840 and his grandson John b. 1847 marr Emily Miller Vincent in Birmingham 1870. The last two Johns were Chemists` porters and owned chemical and hardware businesses in Birmingham. The Vincents were from London but before that from Lincs. Many thanks. |

How do I go about getting birth and marriage records from Wales. I have the exact dates and parishes. One is a birth in Llangendeirne, Carmarthenshire, Wales in 1844 and the other is a birth in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales. I can not find them in the GRO to send away for because those areas arent indexed yet. Any suggestions? Thank you |
