George D. Davies Glais, Ynisymond, South Wales Oct 07, 2004
lEN DAVIES was the retired genealogist who several years ago found George D. Davies at Ynisymond Cottage and sent me the 1871 and 1881 census findings of his parents and siblings. He was born 1870 in Glais, S. Wales, his parents were David D. Davies and Mary Jones. He emigrated in 1887 and married Francis Amanda Stanton in Carbondale, Pennsylvania in 1896. I want to find out what ship he took and about his parents.

I am looking for any information on William Rees who married Rosanna Mary Begg on 13th June 1887 in Cardiff Reg Office. He was born in Bridgend and on the marraige certificate his occupation is that of Railway Servant. His fathers is named Morgan Rees and his proffesion was that of Railway Policeman. William was at the time of marraige aged 22yrs so his year of birth could be 1864/65. I do not have access to the 1871 Census to look up the family so any help would be appreciated.

thanks in anticipation

My GG Grandfather, William LINCOLN, b:1822 Hasketon, Suffolk, married Mary BARGER, b:c1832 Angle, Pembroke, S.W.Wales, 1859, in Upper Chelsea, London. (I presume they both went there to work?)

On the 1881 census they are living in Marylebone with their children:

John b: c1858 Pembroke
Eliza (Mary) b: c1859 "
William (Lloyd) b: c1862 Mortimer, Berkshire
Florence (Jeannette?) b: 1871 Marylebone

I have Eliza's birth cert, as I couldn't find John's (my G Grandfather). She was born the year after her parents marriage. So when was John born then?? I still cannot find a birth cert for him.

Could anyone shed any light on how I could find John's birth please? Is SKS in the position to look up the Parish Registers for Angle, Pembrokes, and see if they could find the children's births? I would be SOOOOO grateful. This has been a brickwall for some years now.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I also have a little info on Mary BARGER and her family:

Mary had a brother, William, Bap: 1835, St Michael's, Pembroke. Mary bap there too in 1832.
Their parents are listed as William, b;1807, Angle, Pem, married Mary Thomas (widow), b:1795, Carew, in 1831, St Michael's, Pemb.

I would also love to hear from any BARGER's from Pembrokeshire if they could contact me on:

krithiab@yahoo.com

Thanks so much,

Krithia

I am looking for some information on my grandmother's family in Wales. She was born Ellen Blanche Evans around 1876. At least some of the time she lived in or near Rhayader. In approximately 1906 she married George Smith from Scotland, who was a stone mason, and they moved to Canada/US. She returned to Wales in 1908 for my mother to be born there (Ellen Margaret Smith). I think she made one trip back to Wales after that, around 1925. She died in Canada in 1937.

I believe my grandmother's father's name was Richard Evans and she had several brothers and sisters. I remember hearing that one sister (or perhaps cousin) of my grandmother's had gone to Egypt with her husband and baby and they drowned on the Nile.

If anyone knows anything about this family, I'd love to hear more.
