Researching family in the Gower - have a look at my website www.victoriandiary.blogspot.com A Year's March Nearer Heaven. I am presently editing and adapting to diary format some 200 letters dated 1879-1883 between members of the Bevan family at Overton, Porteynon and Llandudno. Of interest to local and family historians. |

I am starting research on my paternal family. My grandmother Mary Ann Jones married William Harris (coal miner) in 1906 I think ( awaiting a marriage cert) she was born on 17th May 1889 in a place called Mynyddygowey I think, (The writing on the certificate is terrible)rural district Llanelly, county of Carmethenshire.Childrens names == Phyillis,Vaughn,Howell(my father)Nancy, and David. I dont have dates for these children, as these names are from memory. I hope someone out there can help. Thanks in anticipation. |

I am looking for the birth place and parents of Edward Morgan, He passed away in Trail BC Canada in 1917. His obit said he was born about 1855, census records indicate he was born in 1857, so his birth date could be around these two years. He came to Canada in 1897, His wife Margaret came to Canada in 1900. Her obituary said she was born about 1863 in Swansea Wales. I do not know when or where they were married in Wales.
Edward and Margaret had four children. William Edward born June 25 1881 Wales, Mary Ann born Oct 22 1886 Wales, Richard born Aug 27 1891Wales, and Clifford Wales? (I do not have a birth date for him).
I would sincerely appreciate any information about this family. Wayne Hornquist |
