Dear All
The 2nd Reading of the Adoption Bill is on 10 June (2:30 PM)in the House of Lords.
PLEASE WRITE TO LORD HUNT!(he is the one presenting the Bill)
Tell him that All of the House of Commons wanted to make all rights retroactive and intermediary services a legal right. Tell him that the only one that did not agree was Minister Jacqui Smith. Tell him she only won the vote against these rights with a 3 Line Whip (that means that MP's are forced to vote the same way as the Minister or lose their job). Many Labour MP's did not agree with the Minister and were forced to vote against their consciences. Tell Lord Hunt that is what you, the British public want too.
Write as soon as possible.
At beginning of Letter - Dear Lord Hunt of Kings Heath
At end of letter - Yours sincerely
Here is how to address the envelope:
The Rt. Hon. the Lord Hunt of Kings Heath
House of Lords
London
SW1A 0PW
GET WRITING or we will lose our rights!
Many thanks for your support.

FromCathy HendersonPlease pass on! Thanks for your support. Posted with permission. Dear All
I urgently need your help with the Adoption Bill in the UK.
The whole House of Commons all resoundingly and unequivocally supported a statutory right for birth relatives to obtain intermediary services and for rights to be retrospective for all adoptees and birthfamilies. The only person who did not agree was the Minister Jacqui Smith.
Write to those who sit in the House of Lords (do not forget the Bishops) and tell them that you and the whole House of Commons disagree with the Minister on this.
If you are unable to write to all those in the House of Lords, concentrate on the Labour Lords and Bishops if possible.
Explain that the Commons were united in their view that birth relatives should have a statutory right to an intermediary service, that all rights should be retroactive and that the Minister ONLY WON THE VOTE AGAINST THESE RIGHTS WITH A THREE LINE WHIP.
'Three-line whips' are imposed on important occasions, such as second readings of significant Bills and motions of no confidence. Failure by MPs to attend a vote with a three-line whip is usually seen as a rebellion against the party and may eventually result in disciplinary action, such as suspension from the parliamentary party.
Here's how to write to the House of Lords - please read and follow the instructions:
