I was born on 2 sept 1961 in Ballymena, N.Ireland. My mother, Margaret Jean Prout (nee Llewellyn) had been sent there to stay with relatives. Jean was originally from Neath and I believe that she died there within the last ten years.
She had been living with an older man, Alan Rouse,who she named as the birth father in the adoption paperwork. Alan commited suicide 3 monthes before I was born and Jeans mother didn't want her to return home because she had a younger sister, Diane, who she felt would be badly influenced by the pregnancy.
Jean was married but seperated from David Graham Prout at the time of my birth. He was a gunner in the army when they married in sept 1957.
Jeans parents David , a fitter, and Winifred lived at 15 elm road briton ferry and it was here that jean lived after she gave me up for adoption in December 1961 inn Cardiff.
I think that Jean had a son after me and his name may be Leighton. I also think that Alan may have had a son and that he was a married man. He was42 when he died at the Brampton Hut Hotel in Brampton.
I would dearly like to find out where my mother is buried but I cannot trace her surname when she died. I would also like to make contact with any family or people who knew Jean or Alan.
I know that Jeans Mothers maiden name was Myerscough and that Jean was sent to stay with someone from her Mothers side of the family in Ireland ( I think).

I have found my birth mother and extended family on the Cheetham side and I wish them no harm but no further contact in the future. Thank you.
