Looking for Christopher Buchanan born 1819-1921 Dumfies.I have traced him and his family back to the 1851 english census, at that time he was a shepherd living at Cartmel,Lower Aillithwaite, Lancashie.
Found the birth of a son Thomas 1843 at Middlebie,Dumfries, his mother is recorded as Jean Blacklock.Jean was the first wife and I have'nt been able to trace the marriage.
From the marriage details to his second wife Eleanor Caddy 1854, Christopher's father is recorded as James Buchanan, farmer.
If a somebody could find Christopher (Christa) and Jean (Jane) and any parents on the Scottish 1841 census living in the Middlebie, Dumfries area, I would very gratefull.

I am looking for James Mathison Born 26 May 1784 Lochalsh, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland. Spouse Rachel McInnis. I believe he is the son of Roderick Matheson and Margaret MacRae. Am looking for proof of who his parents are. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Looking for Suttie/Borthwick family from Scotland.
James Suttie was a regular soldier for the Seaforth Highlanders
Elizabeth Borthwick (wife) was a housemaid. Suttie family were from Ladybank/Fife area.
