In 1853 at Geelong he m Margaret Grant who was born abt 1834 - I should like a check on her birthdate because she appeared to marry very young (first child at age 19) |

I'm trying to find out what became of my gg grandfather, Martin Dempster,born 1841 Ireland, county unknown. He was next heard of in Dalry, Ayreshire, Scotland were he worked as a Miner. From there he was next found in Glasgow where it was registered he had sired an illegitimate son in 1861. The child was allowed to have his name and was known as Martin Dempster; the Mother's name was Margret McIntyre, I don't think they ever married?
Doe's anyone recognise any of these names, if so do you have any information of what became of them? |

CAMPBELL & FRASER
I have hit 2 brick walls. The first being my gg grandparents James Campbell & Mary Shaw they would have been born around 1800 - 1810. One of their children, my g grandfather Henry came to Australia, I do not know about the others. If anyone has these names in their research I would like to hear from them.
The other brick wall I have hit is with my gg grandfather Alexander Fraser ( could be John Alexander Fraser, born abt 1940 Paisley Scotland, as far as I am aware Alexander's parents were Duncan Fraser & Mary Alexander. Alexander married Grace Pigdon 1868 VIC Australia, any help greatly appreciated.

I am please to announce the continued success of the Scotland FreeCEN project. We currently have over 1,000,000 million entries online with more being uploaded regularly. This is part of the larger UK FreeCen Project - an Internet-based 'free-to-view' database that will enable researchers to view details of UK Censuses between the years 1841 and 1891, especially the ability to search by surname across census years and counties. I am the Scotland coordinator and am sending out an appeal for volunteers for all parishes.
All you need to take part is a computer. We supply everything else including the CD and the software. This project is a global on-line venture designed for ordinary family historians wherever they are, who would like to make a contribution to our great hobby.
Most counties are currently working on the 1841 Scotland Census, and while some have moved on to 1851, there is still a need for organizers in the following counties.
Clackmannan
Dunbarton
Orkney
Shetland
Stirling
West Lothian
Wigtown
