Campbell / Hyndman : I continue to search for the Scottish roots of my g.g. grandparents. James Campbell (b. abt 1798 ) marries Mary Jane Hyndman (b. abt 1803) on May 1, 1829 -registered in both Kilmarnock Ayr and Tolbooth Kirk , Edinburgh. They have sons David Noble b. abt. 1833 in Scotland and James dob. July 12, 1838 in Edinburgh. By 1843-44 they have all emigrated to Salem, Cumberland County , Nova Scotia , Canada. Can anyone tie them into a particular branch of the Campbells or have any other reference to them in their Scottish research ? |

DAVIDSON and McDONALD
My g-grandfather Robert Davidson was born in Ontario, Canada in 1836. His parents died when he was very young, he thought from some kind of plague. All I know is that he was of Scottish heritage and although it is unlikely that I have enough information for anyone to help I decided "nothing ventured, nothing gained" I have no idea what part of Scotland his parents would have come from or when they came to Canada. My only hope is that someone out there has a family story of a couple who came to Canada and died. His name would probably be Robert Davidson as well. |

I am looking for a James BROWN B: 1812 Scotland, parents James Brown and Janet Muir. There is a death record for a James BROWN in 1897 in Scotland. But it lists father's name as Gilbert which I believe is in error. The naming sequence of James's children give some proof that his father's name would be James as well. James Brown married Jane/Jean Reid in 1841/1842. Would love to share information with anyone researching this line. Thanks Claudia In Seattle |
