I have information on John Fleming b. 1769 in Cragganfearn, Perthshire, Scotland and Janet Ross b. 1772 of Ross-shire. They married and John was disinherited, from his father the Laird of Cragganfearn. I have my suspicions on who this "Laird of Cragganfearn" is and who his parents and siblings are, but I can't quite make it connect. Done plenty of research in Logierait churchyard/graveyard and Blair Castle, with no luck. You may have a clue. You may have some information I could use. MY QUESTION: Do you have any further information on who John's parents are? HIs siblings? Their children?
John and Janet's children: Catherine b. 1795 Dowally (m. Gilbert Saunders and immigrated to New Brunswick in 1854), ALEXANDER b. 1799 Dowally (m. JEAN Stewart), John b. 1794 Dowally (m. 1st Ann Smith 2nd Charlotte Wallace-they had nine children immigrated to Hastings, Canada), Isabella b. 1796 Dowally (m. James Douglas, immigrated to Springfield, Canada)and Janet b.1801 (m. Joseph Garvie).
Alexander and Jean Stewart's children: William b. 1837, Janet (Jessie) b. 1828, Charles b. 1840, (twins) John (m. Margaret Robertson) & James b. 1830 (James married Grace Robertson), Jean b.1848 during immigration to Canada, Alexander b. 1832, Donald b. 1834, Isabella b. 1825 (all born in Kirrandrum, Perthshire, Scotland except Jean).
James and Grace Robertson took children and immigrated to Canada and settled into Springfield, Canada. Any further information and photographs of family members would be much appreciated. Their children: Robert b.1860 Derby Grey, Ontario, Alexander b. 1855, Jessie b. 1857, Jane b. 1858, Clara b.1862, Margaret b. 1864, Minerva b. 1868, Mary b. 1870 and Dr. James Alfred Fleming b. 1866 (DOB's may be off a little). Dr. James A. Fleming met Louise Cornelius Becker in Seattle, Washington and that is where they were married in 1907. If you are in relation to any of these people (whether near or far) let me know and I can give you the rest of my family tree. I am looking for ANY new information. ANY new clues. ANY copies of photos I can use to add to my family tree. Email me at: tnjmangino@hotmail.com

Looking for Whiteford/Wyl(l)ie and Morton from Scotland. James Whiteford (bn May 1826 Ireland) and Jean Wyl(l)ie (bn 16/9/1821 Dunlop Ayr) married in 1847 at Mid Glencraig in Campbeltown. They migrated to Melbourne on the Garland in 1852 with two children. James's parents were Alexander Whiteford and Margaret Kain/Cain. Jean's parents were Thomas Wyl(l)ie,a farmer, and Jean Morton. Thomas and Jean's wedding was around 1809, possibly in Kilmaurs. Jean Morton was the daughter of a George Morton. She was born around 1791 and Thomas around 1787.

James Whiteford's sister Catherine born Ireland abt 1821 married Donald Galbraith/Galbreath of Gigha. I do not think they had any children. They both died in 1890 in Campbeltown, probably in the poorhouse.

Would love to hear from anybody who knows of these families.

Thanks all

Anne Whiteford

I'm looking for the birth or christening record for HENRIETTA BRUCE AITKEN born between 1848 - 1855, daughter of Thomas Aitken and Isabella Graham. I'm pretty sure she was born in South Africa. I have located her siblings- Thomas & Isabella - born in Grahamstown SA, but no sign of Henrietta. Perhaps she was born in a different country. Her father was in the British Imperial Army. Can anyone help me please?
