I spent a week last year in the County Records Office in Belfast trying to find anything on my line of Henderson's from Co Down. On all their grave markers here is written (natives of County Down Ireland), yet i cannot seem to find any info on them. They immigrated to Quebec, Canada, in 1825 or a strong possibility 1829 The family members that came is in question, but for certain there were, John Henderson, born 1731, he died after their arrival and is buried with a grave marker in the Gore Cemetery, Hinchinbrooke Twsp, Quebec My great Grandfather, William, born about 1775, wife, Mary, Mullens?, Minellen?, Muellen?, Montier?, Matier?,. Their children were, Henry, born-1798 in Co Down Robert, born-abt 1805 in Co Down Samuel, born-1807 in Co Down William, born-abt 1809 in Co Down Thomas, born Apr/01/1812 in Co Down James, born-1820 in Co Down Mary Ann, born-Feb/27/1823 in Co Down There were also from Down at that time Ann Henderson, 1786 and husband James Graham, 1786 with Son’s Samuel,1814 and James,1825 John Henderson, 1785 and wife Sarah Hart, 1786 with Letitia, about 1820, Samuel, Dec/01, 1823, John,1821 We believe Ann Henderson and John Henderson, were related to our William as they all settled on the same road within a couple of miles. Of each other If you could possibly help in any way, if a cost is involved, please let me know. I thought when in Belfast at the records office, I might find some clues, but none. Somewhere in Co Down, there must be a record of this family, being as they were all born there. William Henderson. Reply to this message   Carol Weir Canada Sep 18, 2005 Looking for JAMES WEIR, brother to William WEIR. James was born, probably in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 1768 to 1780. Did he marry? Any descendants? Did they emigrate in the 1830's with other Scots to America? Reply to this message   Charles Archbald New Jersey Sep 18, 2005 I have a dead end in my family research with Henry Archbald born 1656 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. His wife was Janet Ramsay born abt 1660 in Fifeshire. They had 3 sons, Henry, 1982, Robert, 1684 and Francis, 1686. I am unable to locate a firm connection to parents of either Henry or Janet. Possibly Henry may be descended from Archbalds in Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumberland, England. Any information would be appreciated.
