I am looking for records of my great grandfather Alexander James ROSS, born 1835. His father James Ross was a tailor who was deceased by 1864 when Alexander married Anne Liddell in Sunderland England. Alexander moved to Gateshead, England and is listed as a lodger on the 1861 census.
I have no record of where in Scotland Alexander was born and would appreciate any assistance in my search.

| Looking for descendants of Alexander Adam Greig, b. 1901 Fife, s/o Robert Greig (coal miner) and Jane Adam. Alexander is namesake of his uncle Alexander Adam who emigrated to U.S. 1879 - my gr-gr grandfather. Looking for more information on Adam family. Alexander Adam Greig had a sister Lillias Ewing Greig, b. 1887, who married William Sherlaw. Alexander Greig's maternal grandparents are James Adam and Lillias Ewan. |

I am having much difficulty trying to track down a marriage. I went on Scotlands People yesterday without success. I am trying to find a marriage date for a William Nicoll born 1784-Brechin who married a Isabel(la) How(e) from Cortchy and Clova Angus. Her parents would be William How and Helen Thomson. I know for a fact due to death record they had a son David born in 1807-Brechin.
I am finding only one marriage date on May 10/1735. This can't be it.
