| I am trying to confirm date of marriage and offspring of my Great grandparents - Murdoch Ross m. Elizabeth Toyn(e) c. 1856 in Edinburgh. Between marriage and the birth of Joseph, born 18 December 1868 in Auckland New Zealand, the family obviously emigrated to NZ., Joseph married my grandmother Melinda Caroline Emily Bullen (Scantlebury) c. 1902. My mother Rai Nellie was a twin to Roi Edward Loris, and they were the 4th & 5th of five children to Joseph and Melinda Ross. Is anyone able to help please? I am uncertain but believe the parents of Murdoch Ross (born c. 1832) to be Murdoch Ross and Elizabeth Cameron. Thanks for any possible assistance. |

My g g grandfather John GRAHAM was born around 1822 in 'Scotland'. I know all his life in Warwick England as a tailor, married (1844) to Catharine Bedford, and the descendants, BUT I can't find whereabouts he was born in Scotland. His father William Graham was a 'seaman'. There is a family rumour of a sea captain around Edinburgh?
Any one got any ideas? I seemed to have tried everywhere.

I am searching for the parents of Obadiah Gordon. He was born in Henrica Co. VA in 1795. He had a brother named William who was born in 1793. Both of them moved to Shelby Co., KY and from there both moved to Daviess Co,KY. Obadiah moved to Ohio Co.,KY. He died 5-9-1883 in Ohio Co. He married Mary Ann Miller in Daviess Co.
I would deeply appreciate any help you can give me.

| My name is Grace Weaver nee Agnew. I was born in Salsbugh in 1942 to Georgina Miles and Alexander Russell Agnew. My mother's mother, Isabella Cousins was married to a man called Anderson when my mother was born in 1904. They were divorced around 1912 and that is all I know of my real granddad. I was told he left the country for either America or Australia. I would like to learn more about him or his family. I think he was a swimmer or diver. Also I would like to hear from anyone who remembers the Agnew family. We left for England in 1947 when I was 5. I have very fond memories of Main street, Salsbugh and would love to hear from anyone who remembers us. I also remember Morag Mckechnie from the post office. |

| Researching James BELL ROSS b. about1830 in Scotland. His parents were John BELL ROSS and Mary PATERSON. He married Janet DOUGLAS (parents George DOUGLAS and Ann COUTTS) in Paisley 1859. They had 4 children, Robert, 1860, Anne, 1861, Mary 1863, and Elizabeth 1866. According to family lore, James emigrated to Canada but his family did not follow as was to happen. In 1871 Janet remarried a William TRENCH (weaver) in Paisley. She and her new family were in Chevington, Northumberland in 1881. James BELL ROSS and his father John were mining contractors. |
