JAMES McCALLUM was born on 25 Sep 1816 'near Glasgow', Scotland according to his tombstone at Rideauvale Cemetery, Kars, Ontario, Canada. Also shown were (possible) parents' names: JAMES & CHRISTINA/CHRISTIANNE. JAMES migrated to Ontario, Canada where his first-born child is shown as ANNE, circa 1842 (in Upper Canada). His second child was CHRISTIANA, b. 30 May 1844, No. Gower, Carleton, Ont., Can. Can anyone do a lookup for his birth? Thanks a million. |

On behalf of my sister I am researching her Husband's genealogy. Alexander Menzies Almondell was born in 1890 and died on the 23rd of March, 1963. His wife, Mary Johnstone Staward was born in 1881 and died on the 31 January, 1962. They had a daughter named Mona Wilson Menzies who was born in 1917 in Broxburn, West Lothian. She married a Newfoundland man who was in the Forestry Unit during WW2 and move to his home in Newfoundland where she died. Mona also had two brothers. If you have any information regarding this family, please contact me....... |

I am looking for any information about my greatgrandfather, Graham Cairns Love. He was born in Glasgow on 15.10.71, the son of Esther Cairns. Esther married Alexander Love on 28.4.76, and had children Robert, Mary Cairns, Jane Boyd, Alexander, Margaret Laird, Esther Andrew Alexander (Andrewina or Ina) and Williamina (Minnie). Graham married Agnes McGregor in Glasgow on 30.6.93, and had two children, Mary Mirk Love, and Alexander Love. Graham had a slating business in Glasgow. The family lived in Dufferin Street Winnipeg, and in England and Ireland for a time in the 1900s. Graham stayed in Canada but came back to Scotland for visits. We can find no record of his whereabouts or death after this time. any help gratefully received! |
