What happened to Alexander George MAY, b. abt. 1876 in Edinburgh, Scotland? He m. Catherine C. RAINBOW, a.k.a. Cecilia RAINBOW, prob. in England, and was sent by the British military to India. Either in England or in India, two children were born: Winnifred Maude MAY, b. 22 Jan 1902; and Reginald Oswald MAY, b. 22 Apr 1909. The family left India on a ship that disembarked in San Francisco, California on 10 Mar 1913 with the stated intention of carrying on to Vancouver, B.C., Canada. That was the last I can find of Alexander George MAY. Catherine then m. Charles Edgar SHERWOOD, a.k.a. Richard WALKER, in California shortly thereafter, and they had three children of their own. The MAY children used first the surname, WALKER, and then SHERWOOD. The oldest child later took back the surnname, MAY.
I would love to hear from someone who either knows what happened to Mr. MAY or anything about his birth family. |
