| Mother was adopted and was born December 1943. Her mother probably Moira Macdairmid whose father was a minister in or near Aberdeen. I believe she was studying history when she became pregnant. Had the baby, also Moira, in Newcastle upon Tyne. It was a private adoptions to the Smiths . Moira the elder then emigrated to Canada and we heard she was head of a nursing school. Do not know her husband's name. Any information on her would be welcome. |

| I have just been informed that my grandmother who would have gone by the name of Alice Beard nee Downie gave birth to a girl around the time of 1961. Whether she gave birth in England or Scotland is unclear. However, she gave the baby up for adoption immediately after birth, to a US Naval officer and his wife who could not have children. It is believed that the baby (now adult) is now living in Pennsylvania, USA, and was possibly named Victoria. My mother and I are looking for this woman so if anyone has any information I would be most greatful. |

| Searching for my birth mother Sandra Smith I think she was from Hawick. She went to live with her aunt in Montrose and gave birth to me in Ninewells hospital in Dundee. My birth name was David Smith. If anybody has any information please get in touch. |

| Hi I am looking for my older brother who was born on the 27th or 28th of December 1979. He was born to my mother Jacqueline Arundel (now Baxter) and her then boyfriend Duncan Macrae. They were both from a small village called Letham in Falkirk. Don't know adoptive parents names or service used for adoption. Any help would be amazing! |
