| I am trying to find my birth mother Margaret Mackenzie who was aged 23 in 1951, the year when I was born in London. My mother worked at the Shaftesbury Hotel, Monmouth Street, WC2 (now Radisson Mountbatten) for about 6 years, after which she seems to have disappeared from London without trace. If anyone knew Margaret or could offer any lead, however slight, I would be most grateful,as would my family. Margaret has a family ready to welcome her and we have been trying to locate her these past 10 years. She has two granddaughters (twins) who would love to get to know her. We do know that Margaret was born in 1927 and that she lived at the Shaftesbury Hotel where she worked as head housekeeper. Apart from one other address in Palliser Road, W14, that is all the information we have, apart from some letters written to Barnardos. If anyone out there could help, then do please contact me. | can anyone help me im trying to find my 2 half brothers 1 was born in nov 1956 in islington his names robert inglis possibly holmes his fathers name is alfred charles holmes and our mothers name is margaret inglis she was born in edinburgh in dec1931 my other brother i only know he was born in 1952 in england and am hoping any1 can make a connection to him by our mothers name (heres hoping) i have searched scotland and it looks like they are possibly in england thanks |

| looking for any info on my fathers birth mother, her name was margaret watson mckenzie, my father was born 4 may 1914 in glebe street bellshill he was given the name john mckenzie, he was later adopted and his name changed to george raeside any help wuld be greatfully recieved |

I am trying to trace my adopted daughter born 1/8/74 at home in East Kilbride and she was registered as Michelle Elaine Johnstone at East Kilbride Registry Office prior to her adoption in Glasgow to a couple. The father worked in a bank and the mother did not work - Rutherglen area,I think
I have been trying for several years now - does anyone know anyone who may fit this description? |

My wife, Fiona, is trying to trace her uncle Bruce Pearson or any of his relatives. Bruce would have been born around 1916-17, probably in Stranraer. His father, Alfred Pearson, was a seaman and his mother's maiden name was Isabella MacLeod. They also had a daughter, Fiona's mother, Elizabeth Haldane Pearson. Isabella died young in 1920-21, Elizabeth was adopted by an uncle in Glasgow and Alfred took his son to live with two aunts in Edinburgh. Due to difficult family circumstances Bruce was placed in an orphanage around 1926 in, or near, Dumbarton. Unfortunately all records were lost during the last war, during which Bruce might well have been in the forces.
Bruce's mother's parents were David MacLeod and Sarah Bruce.
Any information or suggestions on this would be very welcome.
