Dear Friends

I work for Leopard Films, a well respected independent film maker. We are currently making a factual series for BBC1 about the experiences of foundlings, adoptee and other people trying to trace their loved ones. The series is presented by Kate Adie herself an adoptee. It is an emotional and sensitive exploration of extraordinary stories. Where families have been separated from their loved ones and have been reunited or are in the process of searching.

Our series will feature the personal stories of foundlings and adoptee and those closest to them, as well as those whose lives they’ve touched, such as foster carers and adoptive parents and siblings or people who might have discovered them as babies.

In each programme, we will present the stories of individual cases taking their stories from birth to the present day by using interviews, press archive and reconstruction filming. We are hoping footage concerning long-ago abandonment’s will trigger memories and calls from the public. Special BBC telephone helpline numbers will be broadcast several times during each programme and NORCAP will be on hand to deal with all initial viewer contact. NORCAP will, of course, use their expertise to ensure their members are protected from hoaxers or anyone with questionable motives.

If you think you can help with our research we would be delighted to hear from you. There would be absolutely no pressure to take part in filming.

You can get in contact by telephone, email or post. Please call me on: 0870 4204232. If you do not get through straight away, please leave a message and a good time to call, and one of our team will ring you back. Our email is janeayoade@leopardfilms.com. You can also contact me by post at:
