Searching for the last 5 years for Robert 'Bert' McGarrity from Glasgow, Scotland. The last I knew he worked as an Oil Rep and at that time was working/rep at British Steel and would travel extensivly. I would be so very happy if someone ANYONE would send me any information pertaining to the whereabouts of Robert. I will be waiting ......for that is all I can do at this point. I have searched, researched, and e-mailed countless people and run into a dead end. It's silly, I haven't seen him in at least 7 years, and haven't heard from him in 5 and I still remember by heart his old mobile ph number. |

I Have a letter dated 3 May 1932 to my paternal great grandmother in Quincy, Mass., from post mark Edinburgh, Scotland.
The letter address is: 48 Iron Square.
Where is that location? Is it in Edinburgh proper? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Looking for proof of parentage.
John MANNERS (2) born 1842 Greenock Scotland to parents:(on his death certificate the informant, his son, John Charles Manners states John MANNERS (2) mother's name as Catherine CAMPBELL. But the only marriage I can find that ties in with dates are:
John MANNERS (1) & Margaret CAMPBELL married 6 Jan 1841 East Greenock.
John MANNERS (1) parents could be John MANNERS and Agnes MONTGOMERY.
Margaret CAMPBELL parents could be Archibald CAMPBELL and Sarah ?. It is possible Sarah remarried William Williamson.
If anyone can find details (possibly church parish record) I would be grateful. |

Hello! My Dad(my stepfather) Jeffrey Bird's 70th Birthday is June 17th, I would like to find out if he belongs to Clan Cameron or Macinnes. His Mother's name was Jessie Lonie, born in 1890 or 1892 parents, William Roy Lonie & (first name can't remember)Cunningham siblings, John, Jessie(Jeff's Mum) Phyliss (Jeff told by sister she was Jessie's daughter kept hush hush), Mary, and Edith (unsure if there were more). Jeff received a 130 year old picture of his Grandfather in full military scott dress uniform with bagpipes, corpral stipe, but we can't make out the pattern of the tartan, or the badges, because the photograph is so blurred. Jeff's Mum gave birth to him at the age of 44, his father's name was Walter Bird. Jeff was told his Grandfather William Lonie, and his son John made golf clubs. He was also told he helped build golf courses and was a member of one in St. Andrews, Fife. He did win a Totting Beck Championship when he played golf (not sure of spelling). I think his Grandfather had to be born late 1840's to early 1850's. I'm not sure if his Grandfather Lonie's name comes from Auchterlonie, or Macgillonie. They lived in St. Andrews in Fife, and moved to Kinghorn. Please help as I want to buy the correct clan crest badge. Thanks, Tracy. |

I'm looking for information re:
Neil Patterson b c1810, sp Nancy ?? b ?, both born in Scotland.
He applied for land in Canada, in Dec. 1833 and received it in Jan. 1834.
He farmed the land in Victoria County, Ontario, Canada for many years.
I think the land was in his name until 1901, a month after his death.
A Donald Patterson farmed the land next to him. Relationship to Neil unknown...possibly his brother? cousin?
Neil & Nancy had these children:
Lauchlin b1841, John b1843, Mary b1848, Christina b1850, Angus(Andrew?) b1852, & Donald b1854.
(Possibly a Flora b1846 also.)
My questions are:
Where in Scotland did Neil come from & who were his parents? When did he come to Canada?
What was Nancy's maiden name, who were her parents & where did she come from?
Were they married in Scotland or Canada?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Carol
