I am looking for Isobel Finlayson [nee Smith] from the North Drumry, Clydebank area in the 1960s. She had a brother Sam Smith. Isobel married and went to NZ where she had two children Iain and Jennifer Finlayson and returned to Scotland approximately early 1980s. She was working in the Clydebank area as a Teacher when I last heard from her. I am her penpal from school days and I last saw her when she briefly visited New Zealand in the late 1980s. On May 13th of this year as I was preparing to take a second tour bus around Edinburgh, a gentleman named David, struck up a conversation with me and rather than taking the tour bus I joined him in a walk around town. He said he was in town for a golf match the next day for the bank where he worked in corporate investments (in Aberdeen). He took my business card, but did not have one of his own. He encouraged me to stay longer, but I had a short Britrail pass and he had business that evening as well so I went on to Inverness, never thinking he might not contact me. The conversation was so playful that I did not realize until after I left that I did not even know his last name. I've been trying to find him with this little information and a photograph of him ever since. If you can help, please contact me with a subject line 'Information re David' so I don't accidently delete your missive with all the junk mail that fills my emailbox.

Thanks!

JOHN BROWN TURNER ENGLAND Jun 30, 2002
I am looking for my birth FATHER, JOHN BROWN TURNER or any relatives.
He was in the army during the second world war and , stationed at one time on the east coast of Scotland around 1943-1944. He, was English, and served with the R.A.S.C. as a driver /Signalman.
He left when I, was about one year old, and married an English lady. This has left a void in my life, with so many unanswered questions. This is all the information I have, and the Army have refused to help.

Elizabeth Gow was born in Dundee, Scotland in August of 1841 according to her statment. Her death record indicates she may have been born as early as 1838. She was in Michigan as early as 1867 when she married Nelson Upson in Berrien County. She may have connected with the Upson family in Niagara County, New York around 1850. After her husbands death from Civil War related injuries/disease she continued to raise her children in Berrien County, Michigan. She was my great great grandmother. Looking for her ancestry.
