looking for information on g/grandparents
John Townsend and Sarah Marah - married Glasgow
John Jeffrey and Francesca Marah - married Glasgow
Sarah and Francesca were twins, born in Ireland, who were sent to Scotland probably in the mid 1800's
I know nothing of the Jeffrey connection, but the Townsends eventually moved to the old schoolhouse at Polmont, near Edinburgh
any help would be appreciated. |

Trying to find info on my grandfather Alexander Fraser born in Edinburgh then emigrated to Canada or U.S. My grandmother Ellen Naismith Ord (born 1882) was his 2nd wife. Alexander was (considerably?) older. He had a son George(?) and daughter Olive(?) with his 1st wife, and my father Wilfrid Hamilton Fraser with Ellen (Nellie). Alexander lived in California when my father was about 3 years old. On Wilfrid's birth certificate (Vancouver, BC in 1918), Alec is listed as an automobile mechanic.
Thanks for any help as I'm stuck and all people involved are no longer living. |

Kiwi Jan & Pam looking for Robert (Bob) Chander? Edinburgh 1970 summer season April to September Jan and Pam working in the Royal Abbey Hotel and the Skean-dhu Hotel met Robert (Bob). Robert had two sisters one was in a home for the handicapped, possibly Gogarburn Hospital.Robert (Bob) involved in the Territorials.
Anybody nurses etc working at the Gogarburn for the handicapped in 1970 before and after please contact Jan 01942 671663 (day) 01942 679695 (eve).
