I would appreciate if someone could check the 1881 census of Scotland for James Lamb, born about 1860. I don't know which county. The birth year is based upon his age in the 1891 census of Ontario, Canada. James emigrated to Canada in 1882. Thank you.

I am trying to locate a pen pal I corresponded with from Scotland when I was 13 years old. That would have been 1964-1965. His name was Ian Smith. He would now be in his early 50's.
My name at the time was Connie Webb and I was living in Orleans, Indiana. Thanks and have a blessed day. |

I'm trying to trace someone who may have been a Catholic priest in the early 1900s. His name was Patrick or Michael Farrell and he was born in the Gorbals district of Glasgow. Father was Dominick Farrell. Mother was Margaret Farrell nee Mahon. Any information would be much appreciated. |

Hi. I am looking for a pen pal I was writing to in 1960. Her name at the time was Helen Hutchinson. She lived in or around Glasgow, Scotland. It would be great to reconnect. Thank you for this website. My name was Shirley Cooper which is my maiden name. Bye, shirley. |

Seeking any ancestors/descendants of my grandmother MABEL GRANT her parents were GEORGE NELSON GRANT & MARY HANNAH COPELAND
Parents of George Nelson Grant were JOHN GRANT & EUPHEMIA NELSON they were married in Edinburgh, George was born there but at a date unknown moved to Derby where he worked as a travelling postman
George married Mary Plewes Street in 1863 and I believe their son Edward Plewes Grant was my granmother`s half brother, Mary died in 1866 and George remarried 1868 to Mary H.Copeland, I am seeking information on any other children they had, my grandmother Mabel was born in 1874, at Rose St Derby in 1881 the family were then living in Perth, but in 1889 my grandmother was in a childrens home in Edinburgh why? she was then sent to Canada where she married my gtandfather Stephen Geoghan/Gagan in 1894
Greorge Nelson Grant was living in England (shown on the 1901 census)
so it is a puzzle why my grandmother was in a home? can anyone help with any information
thank you
