Add a message to this board Boards Menu Search Boards robin hagedorn australia Mar 15, 2003 I am doing family research into the bennett family of london and the logan family of Edinburgh. Specifically, I am interested in Jane Logan born about 1825 and Peter Logan born 1830 in Edinburgh. Their parents are James Logan and Jane possibly Brock, the surname is badly written on a death certificate. I know that Jane arrived in Australia in 1848 aboard the Mohamed Shah which sailed from London. I don't know when Peter left Scotland/England as he was in USA for two years before he arrived in Australia, possibly it was 1850/51. So far I have not been able to find them on the 1841 scottish census. Any information would be helpful, there may have been other children still left in Scotland. I know that the parents James and Jane were both dead by 1890. Thank you in advance for any help. Robin in Aus. Mr. Duncan comes from Glasgow, Scotland. Mr. Duncan's twin may have died at birth. His mother's maiden name OR name from a second marriage may have been Stewart/Stuart. His religion may have been Protestant. He joined the Merchant Marines (age may have been l8/l9) Mr. Duncan's ship was in New York City in the Winter of l943 and he was about 21/22 years of age at this time. He was a 4th Engineer Officer. I know for sure he was in MALTA, May ll, l944, and his ship may have left New York in the summer of l944, I believe the ship returned to England at this time. He was last heard from in l946 through his correspondence to the U.S. Mr. Duncan's age would probably be in his late 70's or early 80's. If this gentleman is familiar to you as a relative or friend, I would appreciate your kind reply.
