Hi hoping some one out there can help me solve a problem, my maternal grandmother was Margaret Murphy { Murphie } my late mother always told us Margaret was born in Dublin, dont know if its true or not as yet, Margaret Murphy married William McIntosh, could have married 1888-90, only solid thing i can say is they lived eventual in the town i was born in Stockton on Tees { used to be part of Co Durham } 2 of the children were Norah McIntosh, she married Walter Tippey abt 1914, they are my grandparents, Margaret Murphy McIntosh & Willaim McIntosh also had a son John William McIntosh, he served with the DLI, he was sent to France 8th September 1914, by 21st September he was dead KIA, for 2 years i believed my mams story had been prooved wrong as i again thought id'e found that Margaret Murphy was born in Scotland in Kingshoprne, and that William McIntosh was born in Popular east end of London, now believe this to be totaly wrong, please any one researching Murphy & McIntosh and you can relate to this would you please please get intouch, i just cant solve the problem of Margaret Murphy McIntosh and husband William McIntosh. d.casey31@ntlworld.com all the best Derek |

I need some help locating my family's missing link. My grandmother was Adelaide Beatrice Cole from Manchester England. She was born in 1891. She married Bertram Garside and they moved to Canada. So far so good. Now for the hard part. She lost touch with her family. I have been piecing it together but have hit a snag. She had a sister whose name I do not know. It may have been Gertrude. A cousin can remember a sister that was nicknamed Dolly. The sister married a man named William Wood. They lived on Landsdowne Street in Didsbury England. They had 4 sons from what I can gather. Their names were Raymond, Alan, John and George. George served in WW2. John would be about 75 today. Does anyone know of this family? If I can find the sister's first name then I will perhaps be able to confirm if I am loking at the correct Cole family. And I would love to know more about the Wood family. Thanks for any help that you can provide. |

No doubt my request is a little off track; but, I have searched endlessly for the descendants of my great uncle Alexander Wright born 1874 Monquihitter,Aberdeen Scotland son of John Wright/Christian Anderson.. Alexander married
Matilda Wilson Barclay (also known as Rose Barclay) 1908 Inverurie, Scotland - there were 2
children born of this union John Alexander 1908
Old Meldrum and Marjory Christina 1910 Rayne Aberdeen Scotland... I located the family on the
1911 Culsalmond census and Alexander signed his
mother's death certificate in 1914 giving his home address as Home Farm Rothienorman, Fyvie..
I have found nothing further for this gent & his family in Scotland and have been led to believe he may have immigrated to England or elsewhere...
If anyone could give me assistance in finding living descendants of the above family it would be greatly appreciated.....
Thanking you, I am
Rosina Jarvis

I am looking for information on Isabella Richardson. She had a child in South Shields in 1914 (my husbands granddad) and she listed no father on the birth certificate, and her address was "Yews" Windermere, Westmorland, England. The son (granddad) was adopted by the Dickinson's in South Shields, Durham, England. Still looking for info on her, her parents, the father, anything. Thanks, Dana :o) |
