JUDGE is a very rare surname in Newfoundland. If you know of ANY man(or family) named JUDGE who moved to Newfoundland before 1837,it is about 98% likely you just found my ancestor.
Also,Judge families in Ireland....if your family(like mine) has had the following names as standard for the past 200 years or more, please contact me...Peter Joseph Judge,Joseph Peter Judge,Francis Joseph Judge, William Patrick Judge, and similar combinations, and Margaret Judge for the girls.Thanks.Ward. wardgreene@hotmail.com |

Looking for my grandmother. She gave birth to a baby boy, my father, in April 1944, surname Mahon. I have been told she was around 16 yrs of age and was working as a maid/servant to a well off family in Limerick, though she may well have originated from Galway. If you have heard any hearsay within your family, or you think the below might fit, please get in touch. |

DUFFY |
Nov 01, 2006 |
I am looking for information on James DUFFY, possibly from Donegal and born abt.1823. He was a printer and immigrated to Canada around 1846, married Mary Ann WOODBURN and lived in the Ottawa, Ontario area. He may have been related to James Duffy the book published in Ireland (James Duffy & Co.) at that time. Mary Ann WOODBURN may have been from Garvagh. Mary Ann was the daughter of James WOODBURN & Martha MAYNE. Mary Ann immigrated with her family to Aylmer, Quebec in 1843, before moving to Gloucester Twp. ( part of what in now Ottawa), settling on Lot 19, Concession 3, Ottawa Front.
Thanks,
Michele Martin |
